The Clowns Visitors project brings together a group of artists who use the language of humor and clown for therapeutic purposes and to improve the quality of life of people in a context of fragility, isolation or social exclusion.
The clown is a being who navigates through emotions, who meets the human being through innocence, humor and affection.
The laughter and spontaneity that characterize its action, enhance the creation of a positive and transforming environment.
Our project is born from the desire to mitigate the lack of affection in publics whose isolation is a real problem. In this aspect, the clown communicates with the human being, from 0 to 100 years old, bringing to the surface emotions and possibilities of interaction often unique and unique but of great intensity.
The project, based in the Porto d’Artes associative space in Campanhã, has been visiting the institutions of the Lar de S. Manuel and Continuous Care in the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de São João da Madeira since January 2018.
We now intend to expand our network of partners and projects in the field.

The clown, mirrors the imperfections and difficulties of the human being facing the challenges of life. With him we learn to laugh at ourselves and our mistakes.
We propose training spaces for health and education professionals where the main objective is to rediscover the game and the ability to improvise in the face of unforeseen and unpredictable events.
Accepting our vulnerable side allows us to better perceive the audiences with whom we work.
We want to extend the scope of our action enabling other professionals to receive a little of our "special techniques"!
The art of transformation
We deeply believe in the transforming character of clown art. Through it we hope to be able to create magical encounters and environments in the places we visit.
Our visits are intended to provide unique moments, based on the comic lightness of the clown but where we also explore other languages such as music, poetry and dance.
Creating bridges
With our projects we know that we are entering complex economic and social contexts that most of the time involve a large group of institutions and agents of social intervention.
With our action we want to include ourselves in partnership with other projects, creating bridges and identifying possibilities for joint action.
